The presbytery is organized into Support Units and Mission Units, all of which are directly responsible to the presbytery through its Coordinating Council. Support Units are those bodies set forth by the Book of Order to preserve and maintain “decency and order” and to provide connections between presbytery and its churches and between presbytery and the other governing bodies of the denomination. Mission Units are created by the presbytery to act on its vision statement and ministry goals in carrying out the mission of the church.
Each Unit is represented by its Chair, or an individual designated by the Unit, to report for the Unit at meetings of the Coordinating Council. Units carry out priorities established by presbytery. Support Units maintain presbytery’s policies, structure, and operating principles as established by the Book of Order and presbytery’s Mission Handbook. They are at times, be called upon to assist the Mission Units in carrying out the work and mission of the presbytery.
